NATURAL HARMONY

The virtues of Sacred Lotus on oily skin

The Sacred Lotus evokes beauty and delicacy. But it is also a powerful ally for skins that produce too much sebum!

Oily skin needs to find an ingredient and a skincare ritual that eliminates excess sebum while regulating its production. Jowaé has understood this and this is why the brand uses the famous Sacred Lotus in its purifying skincare products. Zoom on its effectiveness!

Oily skin is recognizable by shiny, greasy areas, especially on the nose and forehead. This "oil" is simply the sebum that the skin produces naturally to protect the skin. Indeed, sebum is essential to create the hydrolipidic film, which hydrates the skin throughout the day.
This film is fundamental to protect against daily aggressions, such as pollution, smoke, sun... but also stress!

What about oily skin

In three words: cleanse, purify, soothe.

Oily skin needs to adopt specific skincare products to regulate sebum production. You need skincare products that both cleanse and remove excess sebum, especially on the T-zone (the nose and forehead), but you also need to soothe this area to regulate sebum production without drying it out.

Why soothe it? Because if the skin is too stripped, it produces even more sebum to protect itself.

The solution to meet these 3 needs: the Sacred Lotus.

Sacred Lotus flower: origins & myths

The Sacred Lotus has existed since the dawn of time in Asia... We recognize it very quickly, because unlike its cousin the water lily, it rises above the water!
You may not know it, but the seeds of the Sacred Lotus hold the record for longevity: researchers at U.C.L.A. have discovered the oldest Lotus seed - still active - is 1300 years old.

The seemingly delicate and fragile nature of this white and pink coloured flower is deceptive: in reality, it can warm itself up to 36°C when it is too cold, and to live in water more than 2 metres deep. Impressive for such a beautiful flower!

Legend says that wherever Buddha walked, Lotus flowers grew under his footsteps!

That's to say how magical this plant is... (✿◠‿◠)

Sacred Lotus & its many virtues for the skin

This flower has been used in cosmetics for thousands of years, especially for its soothing and purifying properties.
Why?
The stem of the Sacred Lotus is composed of rhizomes: they are perfect for the skin thanks to their vitamin content. As for the Sacred Lotus seeds, they are rich in antioxidants!
Jowaé uses this plant for its ability to purify, while soothing and preventing oxidation. This is what makes the skin cleansed and mattified, without drying or weakening it.

Symbol of purity and spirituality in Asia,
the lotus, a precious plant, is traditionally used for its soothing and astringent properties.
